Our home is based in the beautiful city of Zurich (Switzerland) at the Department of Mechanical & Process Engineering of ETH Zurich, which is located in the ETH Zurich Campus Zentrum, close to the ETH Zurich main building.

The Mommer Research Group is currently hosted by the Macromolecular Engineering Laboratory (Prof. Dr. Mark Tibbitt). The laboratories are situated in the ML building (ML H floor), where we work closely with the Macromolecular Engineering Laboratory on novel materials and engage in various exciting collaborations.

Facilities

The Macromolecular Engineering Laboratory has all the required laboratory equipment, including chemical fumehoods, Schlenk lines, inert gas supplies, rotary evaporators, freeze driers, centrifuges, vacuum ovens, high-vacuum pumps. Additionally, the engineering, chemistry and materials department, and ETH more generally houses world-class research facilities including NMR spectrometers (12 instruments 300-600 MHz), ESI MS (4 instruments including inductively coupled plasma (ICP-MS)), MALDI-ToF (both Auto and Ultraflex) instruments, SEM and TEM as part of the ScopeM (Scientific Centre for Optical and Electron Microscopy) facility, plate-to-plate rheometers and universal testing machines. As such a variety of facilities can be accessed many of whom are available on site.
